I’ve reached many goals in life. Most (if not all) of what I’ve set out to do. But one thing I’ve never been good at is achieving financial goals. I don’t save money. I don’t budget. I don’t care about my 401K. Actually, I don’t even know what it is. But, I’m really good at spending money. Perhaps this is why I’ve reached many of my goals in life. Most of them have cost money to do.

I’ve always been a doer. I’ve always gone and gotten, bought and went. This is part of the reason I’m faced with my current financial situation. I’ve got way too much loan and credit debt. It doesn’t compare to the debt many others face, but for me it’s too much.

Call me America. I need to change my ways before it’s too late. So, I’m setting financial goals. I’ve created a tight budget. It includes saving money. Maybe I’ll even figure out what a 401K is. Nah. I still don’t care about that. With the way things are going, I’ll probably have to work until I’m dead anyway.

One of the reasons I came to Korea is to get out of debt in an expedited sort of way. I have minimal expenses here, as the cost of living and traveling in Korea is much less than in the United States. Since I’m planning to stay for several years, not only will I be able pay off debt, I should be able save for new adventures too.

I’m making this public so I’ll be held accountable, and more motivated to stop spending. Please help. If you start seeing photos of me wearing designer clothes and frolicking about in Thailand, check in to see how I’m doing. What are your goals, and how can I help you achieve them?
