TO HAVE A VOICE

Green tea, honey, lemon and ginger in South Korea.

A (kind of) poem about my gratefulness to have a voice. Being sick has reminded me it might not always be there. What would I do without it? No longer will I take my ability to speak for granted.

Warmth of peppermint
Green tea
Lemon zest covers my fingers
Bittersweet taste of ginger
Lingers

Pure, premium sweetness
Honey
Like water to drink
It soothes and coats
My throat

A bit under the weather
Unwell
I can sing high, speak low
But not in between
Foreseen

Lost in thought
In quietness
Loud ideas come to life
To have a voice
Rejoice!
