KISS AND TELL

I don’t usually kiss and tell, except for when I do. Let’s just say my faith in dating has been restored. I had a wonderful time this evening with a charming young man in Seoul.

Within five minutes after meeting each other, we were asked to model a box of cigarettes. I don’t know how or why it happened. It just did. Of course it was awkward. But, what better way to break the ice?

After the rough-and-ready photo shoot, we shoved our faces with an overabundance of meat at Copacabana Grill, then relaxed at Ikovox Café in Itaewon until the night became too chilly to enjoy outside.

I appreciated how silly he was. He made me laugh a lot. Our time together was comfortable, genuine. That’s important. He has the best facial expressions, and almost let me smell his socks. That’s even more important.

It was just a kiss. But, it made me feel like I was 14 again. A little giddy. A little nervous. A little innocent. Wait a second. Let me rephrase that. It made me feel like I was 24 again. Everything kind of starts over after you “come out”. And that's when I did.

I don’t know what will happen next, and I don’t really care. I’m simply thankful for the time we got to share. It was refreshing. He's refreshing. I hope we grow in friendship, and get to see each other again soon.
